After much research and thoughtful discussion over the weekend the Greenfield Public Library Board of Trustees has made the decision to close the library to the public beginning tomorrow, March 17 through April 1. The Illinois Library Association published a statement early this morning recommending it and with the current government mandates we believe it’s the right thing to do. We care for our patrons, staff, and community and want everyone to stay healthy. You may see staff and trustees working at the library but we are NOT open to the public. We look forward to seeing you and your books in the future.
KEY POINTS: If you need a delivery of books you have ordered, please call the library. *The library and toys will be disinfected. *Please do not order books from SHARE as many other libraries are closed and delivery will be stopped. *The book drop will not be available. We are loaning it to the city for water bill drop off to lessen traffic and possible spread of infection in their entryway. *Fines will not be accrued during this time. *Free wifi outside the building is available 24 hours. Password is guest. *You may still use icloud to get materials on your devices. Thank you for your understanding!
